How an engagement works

StarFarer isn't a SaaS trial. The right starting point depends on your operation, your knowledge gaps, and what you're trying to scale. We find that out first — then we prove it with the Baseline: your plant's first intelligence report, free, in five working days.

Step zero · The Baseline

Proof in five working days.

Before either path begins, StarFarer earns the engagement. Send us your equipment list — a node list from your P&IDs, a fluid inventory, a plot plan. Five working days later you hold your Plant Safety Intelligence Baseline: a HAZOP draft for every node, your failure-propagation map, dispersion and jet-fire physics for your credible scenarios, and a clause-level regulatory gap register. If it isn't worth knowing, walk away and keep the report. Your data is deleted on request, confirmed in writing.

Two paths in

Platform access or organisational intelligence.

Most organisations start with the platform and expand into organisational intelligence once they've seen what encoded reasoning delivers at speed.

Path 01Weeks to live

The platform.

Access to StarFarer's full reasoning capability across renewables, hydrogen, off-grid and process safety. Engineering and operational questions answered with sources, at the depth a senior engineer would give — available now, to your whole team.

  • The Baseline first — a free intelligence report on your plant in five working days
  • Immediate access — no integration required
  • US and European standards encoded and current
  • Incident-informed reasoning — from Piper Alpha to Buncefield
  • Study support — HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA/SIL drafting with engineer review
Path 02Built for your operation

Organisational intelligence.

We encode your organisation's knowledge — site standards, procedures, named expert reasoning — into a private intelligence layer. StarFarer then answers the way your best engineers would, at every site, on every shift, for every question they can't be present for.

  • Private corpus — your knowledge, isolated, never shared
  • Expert reasoning encoded — before it retires or moves on
  • Deployed to your operation — control rooms, field teams, night shifts
  • Ongoing intelligence growth — Aby learns from every interaction
The organisational intelligence path

What the conversation leads to.

From first call to live deployment. No unnecessary stages — every step produces something your engineers can use.

Step 01 · The conversation

We listen before we build.

One call with a senior engineer. No deck, no demo. We want to understand your operation — what your people know that no system captures, where the knowledge gaps cost you, what happens when your best engineer isn't available at 2am.

No commercial commitment at this stage. Pure engineering listening.
Step 02 · Knowledge mapping

We map what needs to be encoded.

A structured engagement to identify the knowledge that matters most — your site standards, your procedures, the reasoning your senior engineers apply that isn't written down anywhere. We scope what goes into the private corpus and what the deployment looks like.

Step 03 · Encoding

Senior engineers encode the knowledge.

Not automated. Not scraped. VyroNyx engineers work with your subject matter experts to hand-encode the reasoning chains, decision logic and standards context into StarFarer's private corpus. This is the work that creates the moat.

Your knowledge never leaves your environment. It is never used to train any model, never accessible to any other organisation.
Step 04 · Deployment

StarFarer goes live in your operation.

Your team accesses StarFarer through the platform — the same interface, now powered by your organisation's knowledge as well as the full encoded standards and incident corpus. Control rooms, field engineers, night shift supervisors. Every question, answered the way your best people would.

Step 05 · Intelligence growth

It compounds.

Every interaction, every question asked and answered, every new standard issued — StarFarer's intelligence grows. Aby, the reasoning layer underneath, learns from the traces of good and weak reasoning and self-improves. The longer it runs in your operation, the wider the gap between you and the firms that don't have it.

The honest comparison

StarFarer vs the alternative.

What changes when your organisation's engineering intelligence stops depending on who happens to be available.

Without StarFarer

The current state
  • The answer depends on who picks up the phone
  • Your best engineer's knowledge retires with them
  • Night shift and remote teams work with less
  • Regulatory questions go to consultants, slowly
  • The same question gets different answers on different sites
  • Knowledge walks out the door with every resignation

With StarFarer

The next frontier
  • The same sourced answer, any site, any shift
  • Senior engineering judgement encoded — it never retires
  • Night shift has the same intelligence as the day shift
  • Regulatory answers in seconds, with citations
  • One standard of reasoning across every site and team
  • Knowledge compounds with every interaction
What changes after

Three things that are different on day one.

Change 01

Questions get answered faster.

Not marginally faster. The difference between a question that waits for the right person to be available and one that is answered in thirty seconds with a source citation.

Change 02

The answer is the same everywhere.

Site A and Site B, day shift and night shift, the new hire and the twenty-year veteran. One standard of reasoning. No drift, no interpretation gap.

Change 03

Knowledge stops walking out the door.

Every resignation, every retirement used to take irreplaceable judgement with it. Encoded into StarFarer, that judgement stays — and keeps compounding.
