Most platforms make you sit through a sales call to learn what you'd actually get. We put it in writing instead — every capability, the exact data we ask for, our security commitments, and the confidence scoring that tells you when not to trust the machine — and we publish it. Read it before you ever talk to us.

What's inside

Fourteen sections. Nothing withheld.

The same document our clients receive. Including the parts a sales deck would leave out.

Section 01

What StarFarer Is

A plant intelligence platform — a hand-encoded corpus of incidents, standards and failure mechanisms, combined with a live model of your specific facility.

Section 02

Two Ways to Use StarFarer

General safety intelligence from day one — no data needed. Plant intelligence once you submit your facility data. Both available, one account.

Section 03

Getting Started

First queries, no setup. Upload your P&IDs and reports — Aby reads them. Ask her to explain anything in plain language. She remembers your project between sessions.

Section 04

How to Read the Answers

Provenance labels, the assumption ledger, and why a confident wrong answer is the failure mode the whole platform is engineered against.

Section 05

Setting Up Your Plant

Three data tiers, each optional, each unlocking more. What we need, in what format — and why translating your data is our job, not yours.

Section 06

In Practice

Eight moments from a working week — from a 03:10 pressure excursion to insurance renewal. The arithmetic that makes the platform pay for itself.

Section 07

Compliance Tools

The Plant Linter, the Coverage Map, complete HAZOP reports, the Living Safety Case and the MOC workflow — every finding cited to its clause.

Section 08

Risk Intelligence

Propagation analysis, Monte Carlo, counterfactuals, live physics engines and novel-hazard prediction on your specific topology.

Section 09

The AI HAZOP Committee

Four specialist perspectives argued independently, synthesised by a chairman — with minority reports where they disagree.

Section 10

The Aby Number

A measured 0–100 confidence score on every answer, with visible components — and how to cite it in your reports and audits.

Section 11

Data Security Statement

Your data serves only you. Deletion within 48 hours. A DPA when you need one. The commitments, in writing.

Section 12

For the Future

The roadmap we publish: near-miss mining from your alarm historian, live plant connections, organisational workspaces, the Plant Intelligence Score.

Section 13

Onboarding & the Free Trial

Three steps from first call to your Plant Safety Intelligence Baseline — and the promise that you judge before you commit.

Section 14

The Words, In Plain English

Eighteen terms, one sentence each. HAZOP, P&ID, MOC, SIL — the whole vocabulary, explained so anyone on your team can follow.

Worth reading twice

Three commitments in writing.

These are the paragraphs a demo would gloss over. They're in the manual because they're binding.

Commitment 01

Your data serves only you.

Plant data you submit is used solely to answer your facility's queries. Never shared with another client. Never used to improve another client's answers. Never folded into the general corpus without your explicit written consent.

Commitment 02

Leaving is always possible.

Request deletion of everything you've submitted, at any time. We comply within 48 hours and confirm in writing. A platform that traps your data doesn't deserve it.

Commitment 03

The machine tells you when not to trust it.

Every answer carries a measured Aby Number. When the evidence is thin, the score says so — SPECULATIVE means speculative. In safety work, a confident wrong answer is the most dangerous output possible. We built against it.

What we ask for

Three tiers. You set the pace.

Each tier is optional and delivers standalone value. Every step deeper, the intelligence gets more specific to your plant.

TierYou provideStarFarer unlocks
TIER 1
The Baseline
A node list from your P&IDs, a fluid inventory, a marked-up plot plan. Documents you already hold. HAZOP drafts for every node, your propagation map, dispersion and jet-fire physics, a clause-level regulatory gap register — in five working days.
TIER 2
Condition
Equipment register, safeguard inventory, maintenance history. Aging-risk rankings from your plant's actual condition, safeguard gap registers, a monthly Plant Condition Brief.
TIER 3
Operational
Incident and near-miss logs, operating procedures, alarm historian export. The deepest capability on the roadmap: near-miss mining — the incidents you almost had, found in data you already own.

Read it. Then test it on your plant.

The manual tells you what you get. The Baseline proves it — free, on your actual facility, in five working days.
